In the UK, self-employment is one of the most commonly used form of business. Working for yourself, you’re considered a sole trader.
A self-employed persons earn money by doing something by themselves, without being hired by anyone, effectively making them their own superiors.
As a self-employed person, you may work from your home or an office, depending on your needs. However, when working at home you may sometimes be required to provide your local authority with clearance so that part of your home can be legally considered business premises.
